Between the cold weather outside and all the central heating indoors it’s no wonder many suffer with dry hair in the winter months. This Restorative Hair Mask by Surya Brasil keeps my hair healthy, adds shine, reduces fly-aways and helps keen dandruff at bay.
Vegfest came to London on the 20-21 October and it did not disappoint. It’s crazy how busy these things get now that vegan has hit the mainstream. There were so many stalls covering beauty, food, health, clothes, accessories, art work and more. It was a big celebration of veganism and compassion. With many vegan celebs in attendance (Fat Gay Vegan, Earthling Ed, Evanna Lynch, King Cook Daily) I was absolutely ecstatic when I bumped into Tim Shieff, the vegan free runner that’s done recipes with Jamie Oliver, has had huge achievements on Ninja Warrior and has had his bum on the cover of Viva! magazine.

This Multi-Use Cream Face Paletteby Nude & Noir has revolutionised my over night bag. I spend a lot of time at my boyfriends or visiting friends at the weekend and hate taking tonnes of cosmetics along with me, but also want to look lush the next morning.
This all-in-one means I’ve got my contouring, glow, blush, lips & eyes all sorted. With coconut oil at the heart of this palette all you need is your fingers to apply these beautiful colours – no need for a collection of brushes. The mirror is super handy for touching up make up when out and about – I use mine mostly on the tube or at my boyfriend’s as he has no mirror in his room (no amount of nagging has changed this). Most importantly, this palette is cruelty free, eco-friendly and vegan. Read more ›
Mooshies is the burger bar you’ve been waiting for. With four delicious burgers on the menu, a good selection of sides and vegan booze available this place has found it’s space in London’s famous Brick Lane. Roughly half of the menu is available as gluten free, appealing to the GF vegans. Whilst the burgers are incredible, it’s the guilty-pleasure vegan cheese sticks which will keep me coming back.
This Fresh Orange Body Mousse (availablehere) smells incredibly citrus and leaves your body feeling fresh. Softly uplifting, it’s wonderfully relaxing to massage this into your body whilst inhaling and exhaling slowly and deeply. Take your time to focus on each limb and rub the mousse onto your skin in circular movements. This is best used on warm, wet skin – so pause your shower once your pores have opened up and give your body the time and attention it deserves.
Beauty boxes are a beautiful thing. They’re becoming increasingly popular, as we prove to love having surprise boxes filled with beauty treats delivered to our door. These boxes typically contain a good mixed of new brands and old favourites, as well as guaranteeing a bargain.
Best of all, us vegans don’t have to miss out. I’ve collected together some of the best vegan beauty boxes out on the market. These are particularly perfect for new vegans that are trying to veganise their makeup bag, as you can try a lot of brands without spending a fortune.
Discount code: VOBBOX15 – save 15% off your whole order, including shop items.
So I’ve not been signed up to any beauty boxes for a while, as I keep clogging up my makeup bag with stuff I don’t really need. Whilst VOBEAUTY do a gorgeous surprise subscription box too (£15.95), what I love most about them is that you canbuild your own box. All their products are vegan and cruelty free, so you’re free to make your choices. You can choose to grab 3 (£10) or 5 (£15.95) products out of roughly 9-12 on offer, no subscription necessary. I find this gives me the opportunity to try out new brands at a good price, without getting stuck with products that I don’t want.
Livin on the Veg was a vegan street food battle presented by KERB in the heart of London. With tickets at £25-£30 per person including eight of the best vegan dishes London has to offer this event sold-out easily and united veggies, vegans and omnivores with amazing food. The portion sizes were perfect, allowing you to get a great taste for the food without filling you up too much. With entrants receiving a voting token upon entry, all the food stalls present one dish to battle it out to receive the golden carrot award. Below I’ll be giving you the low-down of the best stalls.
I’ve introduced this Sukin Facial Moisturiser (available here) into my skincare routine as both a morning and evening moisturiser over the past week and it’s been wonderful. My skin can get very dry easily when the weather is erratic (which it has been lately, British summer and all) so it’s important for me to have a good quality moisturiser.
