The Viva! Vegan Festival London had it all: great vegan food, clothes, beauty and homeware. I’d always recommend going to these vegan events as you get tonnes of vegan retailers under one roof where you can sample their products and nab a bargain.
Rose Geranium Clay Facial Cleanser – Heavenly Organics – £6.99
Usually £6.99, I managed to nab this for a fiver at the show. I’ll be using this to replace my Lush 9 to 5 cleanser which I use each morning. I’ll rub a small amount over my face and then remove using a muslin cloth.
Jaffa Cake Cake – Soya Beings – £4
Once upon a time, I was quite partial to jaffa cakes which are sadly off the menu for vegans. Whilst they had a great display of cakes, I’m super happy to have chosen this one as the orange jelly layer of this cake was spot-on and I wolfed down my generous slice.
Rose Blossom Candle – Vegan Bunny – £6
If you like the scent of roses (who doesn’t?) then you’ll love this candle. Deeply romantic and delightfully floral this is perfect for a night in with the significant other. They’re PETA approved, free from pesticides, herbicides and genetically modified materials. Other scents include cinnamon, ginger, jasmine and lavender.
Ve Liquid Matte Lipstick – Makeup Without Malice – £12.99
The Makeup Without Malice stand really impressed me. Whilst there were some lovely natural, organic make up stalls at the fest, Makeup Without Malice was all about fun, vibrant make up which was delightfully different. I fell in love with the Ve liquid gold highlighter, but it was the Ve Liquid Matte Lipstick in the shade Naked which had me reaching for my purse. It’s a gorgeous autumn shade and very similar the the Kat von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks.
Condoms & Lube –Lacy’s Vegan Sex Shop
I grabbed some free samples from Lacy’s: glyde lubricated flavoured condoms and frutopia lube. They’re an online sex shop with leather free bondage items amongst other vegan sex essentials.
Vegan Coronation Clicken – Badger’s Dairy & Egg Free – £5
I haven’t a clue what coronation chicken tastes like so this may be way off the mark, but it’s delicious nonetheless. I’ll be filling rolls with this and salad leaves for quick easy lunches at work this week. They also had a delightful Tunah Mayo which I was tempted to grab. Keep an eye on these guys.
Onion bhaji – Green Sisters 3 Free
After all the sweet free samples I just wanted to pick up something small and savoury. This bhaji hit the spot. Next time I see these guys I think I’ll grab something from their sweet samosa collection (hello chocolate samosa!)
The next big vegan date in the diary is VegfestUK London on 21-22 October – make sure you attend and check out all the wonderful vegan stalls.
